FIELD: radio communications; code-division multiple access cellular communication systems. SUBSTANCE: proposed method and device as well as their alternatives are characterized in that one or more active duplex signal repeaters are connected to donor (that is, temporarily underloaded) base stations. Signal repeaters are mounted in service area of base station (or stations) that may occur for this or that reason at so-called hot points (for instance, in areas of mass arrangements such as exhibitions, conferences, fairs, and the like) and may run overloaded with respect to carrying capacity which greatly reduces quality of servicing users of particular communication system at this hot point. Upon increase in preset loading threshold recorded in one of overloaded service areas signal containing information about overloading of particular base station is applied to input of controller or separate control device whereupon one of sectors of arbitrary donor base station is connected to respective full auailability commutator of donor base-station signals output of one of sectors of arbitrary donor base station. As soon as peak load is reduced, base-station resource allocation returns to normal servicing mode. EFFECT: enhanced reliability of cellular communication network. 3 cl, 2 dwg
