MICROWAVE EXCITER OF ELECTRODELESS GAS-DISCHARGE LAMP (ALTERNATIVES) Russian patent published in 2002 - IPC

Abstract RU 2185004 C2

FIELD: light engineering and microwave engineering. SUBSTANCE: split microwave cavity using TE01op operating wave accommodates electrodeless gas-discharge lamp made in the form of hollow torus whose azimuthal symmetry axis is in line with longitudinal axis of microwave cavity. On external side of torus lamp is provided with radially diverging dielectric holders each enclosed on its loose end with guides from both split sections of cavity for reciprocating motion in radial direction. As an alternative, nonsplit microwave cavity using same operating wave accommodates electrodeless lamp of toroidal shape provided on internal side of torus with at least two radially converging dielectric rods rigidly fixed with overhanging dielectric rod mounted along longitudinal axis of cavity. EFFECT: enhanced luminous efficiency; ability of raising luminous flux power, enhanced environmental friendliness and service life of light source. 12 cl, 16 dwg
