FIELD: manufacture of superfine powders. SUBSTANCE: method involves evaporating substance by laser radiation; condensing evaporated substance in gas flow. Laser radiation is provided in repetition pulse mode. Surface of substance to be evaporated is movable in focal plane relative to laser radiation focal point at constant speed of Vc such that Vc > d/τ, where d is diameter of focal spot and τ - is one radiation pulse time. Apparatus has evaporating chamber for storage of substance to be evaporated, laser, gas flow delivery nozzle and drive for moving surface of substance under evaporation. Drive is mounted for rotation and displacement at constant linear speed of surface of substance under evaporation process in focal plane relative to laser radiation focal point. Apparatus is further equipped with fan for blowing evaporation chamber with gas flow, cyclones and filters adapted for collecting powder and arranged at gas flow discharge end of evaporating chamber. Laser is adapted for operation in repetition pulse mode. Nozzle is designed to provide for single direction of gas flow and laser radiation and is positioned above surface of substance under evaporation process.
