FIELD: electroplating. SUBSTANCE: process is conducted in self-regulating electrolyte and may be used for coating parts in aircraft engineering, instrumentation engineering, and other technical areas, in particular in high-pressure hydraulic systems. Electrolyte contains, g/l: chromic anhydride 225-275; potassium fluorosilicate 15-25; strontium sulfate 4-8; IVB, VB, or VIB-group metal oxide powder 0.5-50; IVB, VB, or VIB-group metal carbide powder; and surfactant (chromoxane, chromine, and other) 0.1-1.0. Coatings thus obtained show microhardness up to 1400 kg/sq.mm and their porosity is 100-fold reduced as compared to standard porosity.
