SUBSTANCE: invention relates to derivatives of polyhydroxyalkyl-pyrazine of the formula (I) used as active component in medicinal agent where R₁ means stereoisomeric forms of chain (II): ; R₂ means hydrogen atom; R₃ means stereoisomeric forms of chain (III): ; or R₂ means stereoisomeric forms of chain (II): or (III): and R₃ means hydrogen atom. Invention describes also methods of synthesis of compounds of the formula (I) based on thereof. Compounds show hypoglycaemic activity and can be used in therapy for prophylaxis and treatment of diabetes mellitus. EFFECT: improved method of synthesis, valuable medicinal properties. 12 cl
