FIELD: restoration of surfaces of cylindrical parts such as hollow shafts, sleeves operating in frictional mechanisms. SUBSTANCE: method comprises steps of preliminarily annealing part at temperature 850 C for subsequent removal of worn layer; pressing onto part steel sleeve-type insert and fastening it by welding; making turning on surface of insert and filling said turning with wear resistant material; heating it until melting; selecting wear resistant material according to condition providing difference of thermal expansion coefficients of wear resistant material and steel of sleeve-type insert in temperature range 1000÷20°C. Use of insert provides lowered heat barriers at surfacing and enhances heat transfer. EFFECT: increased wear resistance of friction pair. 2 cl, 1 ex, 2 dwg
