FIELD: industrial organic synthesis. SUBSTANCE: vinyl acetate is prepared by interaction of ethylene, oxygen, and acetic acid in presence of supported metallic palladium, gold, and copper as catalyst. To starting material, halogen-free copper compound is added to come into contact with catalyst, on porous surfaces of which catalytic effective amounts of metallic palladium, gold, and copper are precipitated. Copper compound is a soluble salt, aqueous solution of which is atomized in amounts from 10 to 50 ppm into stream of starting material. Preferable support is silica impregnated with alkali metal acetate. EFFECT: increased lifetime of catalyst and its efficiency regarding selectivity of process. 19 cl
