FIELD: chemical industry. SUBSTANCE: invention is dealt with the methods of production of the catalyst containing metal palladium and gold, and intended for production of vinyl acetate using reaction of ethylene, oxygen and acetic acid, and with methods of production of vinyl acetate using the produced catalyst. There is a description of the method of production of the catalyst for production of vinyl acetate using reaction of ethylene, oxygen and the acetic acid. The method provides for usage of a porous carrying agent, on porous surfaces of which catalytically efficient amounts of metal palladium and gold are deposited, at that the mentioned catalyst is prepared by stages including impregnation of the porous carrying agent, the porous surfaces of which contain catalytically efficient amount of the previously reduced metal palladium by a solution of aurate of potassium, and reduction of aurate of potassium up to catalytically efficient amount of metal gold. The alternate versions are described. There is a description of methods to produce vinyl acetate by reaction of ethylene, oxygen and acetic acid as reagents at the presence of the catalyst containing metal palladium and gold, produced by the method circumscribed above.
