FIELD: electrical engineering; feeding gas-discharge lamps. SUBSTANCE: apparatus has series- connected line filter, full-wave rectifier, and half-bridge transistor inverter built around two transistors. One of two current-transformer windings is connected to base and emitter of each transistor; third winding of mentioned current transformer has its one lead connected to midpoint of mentioned inverter transistors and its other lead, to first lead of gas-discharge lamp first electrode through LC circuit; second lead of mentioned first electrode is connected through capacitor to first lead of second electrode of gas-discharge lamp. Second lead of second electrode is connected to circuit midpoint, emitter of mentioned inverter bottom transistor being connected to the latter. Starter is connected to collector of mentioned inverter top transistor and to base of bottom one. Current transformer is provided with fourth winding whose center tap is connected to midpoint of circuit and its leads are connected to inputs of high-frequency full-wave rectifier. Outputs of the latter are connected to one lead of switch which is also connected to control input of starter; second lead of switch is connected to circuit midpoint and its control input, to timer output. Timer inputs are connected to outputs of threshold elements responding to maximal and minimal voltages across lamp electrodes. EFFECT: enhanced reliability of apparatus protection. 1 dwg
