SUBSTANCE: invention relates to light polarizers and may be used in flat liquid-crystalline displays, lighting equipment, optic modulators, light-modulation matrix systems, etc. More particularly, invention provides polarizer including polymer film or plate colored by dichroic dye, in particular organic salt of dichroic anionic dye selected from azo, azoxy, azomethyne, stilbene, polycyclic, or metal-complex dyes, and/or dissymmetric mixed salt of said dichroic anionic dye with different cations, and/or associate of said dichroic anionic dye with surface-active cation and/or amphoteric surfactant, and/or mixed salt of said anionic dye having polymeric structure.
