METHOD PREPARING SURFACES OF ARTICLES OF STAINLESS STEEL BEFORE NICKEL-PLATING Russian patent published in 2003 - IPC

FIELD: electrodeposition. SUBSTANCE: method includes washing of articles in water, degreasing and electrochemical treatment in aqueous solution of sulfuric acid. Electric treatment includes operations of anode and cathode pickling with current density (3-10)10² A/sq m and concentration of sulfuric acid between 10-20 per cent by mass. Operations of anode and cathode pickling are repeated in the course of time under half of period of one operation. Technical result of method lies in increased efficiency of electrochemical treatment of surfaces of articles of stainless steel thanks to improved cleanliness of treatment and to provision of required roughness, in enhanced ecological cleanliness of process and in uniform distribution of adhesive strength of nickel coat over entire coated surface.
