FIELD: radio engineering; communication systems, metrology, electromagnetic compatibility problems. SUBSTANCE: proposed cardioid-pattern broadband unidirectional dipole antenna 1 has two identical metal dipoles 2; circuit envelope of each dipole is formed by beams outgoing from one lead 5 of conductor 4 of dipole 2 towards its other lead 9, these beams converging at acute aperture angle Θ; envelope external beam 11 forms angle ψ, with longitudinal axis 3 of antenna 1 and turns to nonlinear section 12 with convex curvature whose curvature radius reduces with increase in distance from one lead 5 towards other lead 9 and then to first oval- shaped nonlinear section 13; envelope internal beam 14 turns into internal nonlinear section 15 with concave curvature whose curvature radius reduces with increase in distance from one lead 5 of conductor 4 towards its other lead 9 and turns to second oval-shaped internal nonlinear section 16. Conductor leads 5 are connected to matching-and-balancing device whose output functions as antenna input. EFFECT: enhanced operating- frequency band and matching level throughout entire band. 20 cl, 16 dwg
