FIELD: biotechnology, microbiology, biochemistry, amino acids. SUBSTANCE: amino acids of L-glutamic acid family, namely L- glutamic acid, L-proline and L-arginine, are prepared by culturing bacterium Escherichia coli with auxotrophic property by L-isoleucine. Bacterial cells are cultured in nutrient medium comprising L-isoleucine and accumulated amino acids are isolated from cultural fluid. The strain Escherichia coli VL322thrC+ produces L-glutamic acid, the strain E. coli 702ilvA (VKPM B-8012) produces L-proline and the strain E. coli 237 (VKPM B-7925) produces L-arginine. Invention allows to obtain the higher yield of amino acids of L-glutamic acid family using bacterium E. coli with auxotrophic property by L-isoleucine.
