METHOD FOR PREDICTING EFFICIENCY OF OPERATIVE-RADIATION AND OPERATIVE-THERMORADIATION TREATMENT OF MAMMARY GLAND CANCER Russian patent published in 2003 - IPC

SUBSTANCE: the present innovation deals with sampling cytological punctates before the onset of either radiation or thermoradiation therapy, and, also, postoperative cutoffs of tumor tissue and morphometric analysis of material. High level of necrotic processes in cancer parenchyma after carrying out either radiation or thermoradiation therapy should be predicted at detecting the values of nuclear volumetric dispersion in punctates to be about 395.6 and more, root-mean-square deviation - about 19.9 and more at nuclear volumetric value being about 783.4 cu.mcm. Relapses of tumor process during 5 years after therapy conducted are predicted at certain values of tumor parenchymal density, area of necrotic foci, index of normal mitoses and density of tumor stroma at operative- radiation therapy, in case of operative-thermoradiation therapy - at certain values of tumor parenchymal density, index of normal mitoses, index pathological mitoses.
