FIELD: biotechnology, steroids, biochemistry. SUBSTANCE: invention relates to preparing Δ1,2-corticosteroids by microbiological method. The strain Pimelobacter simplex VKPM Ac-1632 is able to introduce 1,2-double bond into Δ4-3-ketosteroids or into Δ5-3β-hydroxysteroids of pregnane order with formation of cross-coupled system in ring A of steroid molecule. The strain Pimelobacter simplex VKPM Ac-1632 provides carrying out the transformation with charge of the parent steroid up to 6 g/l by conversion to the end product up to 99% and without usage of solubilizing agents. The strain Pimelobacter simplex VKPM Ac-1632 shows broad specificity and perspective catalyst of processes for modification of steroids. EFFECT: enhanced effectiveness and valuable biochemical properties of strain. 1 tbl 1 ex
