FIELD: mechanical engineering; internal combustion engines. SUBSTANCE: according to proposed method of control of internal combustion engine containing a number of cylinders, each provided with piston, fuel injection system including number of selectively operating spray tips of nozzles and gas supply system to deliver gas to spray tips of supply nozzles, each spray tip of nozzle is made for delivering by means of gas directly into engine cylinder. Method includes also opening of spray tips of nozzles of first and second cylinders to that gas inside first said cylinder is transferred through its nozzle spray tip and is directed into gas supply system causing appearance of gas delivered to nozzle spray tip of second cylinder to deliver fuel into said cylinder. Both first and second cylinders of engine operate to provide combustion within corresponding cycle of cylinder operation, and delivery of gas from first cylinder into gas supply system provides delivery of gas to second cylinder during corresponding cycle of cylinder operation. Engine includes control device to control engine to make nozzle spray tips of first and second cylinders open and transfer gas from first cylinder through its nozzle spray tip to gas supply system, thus providing appearance of gas delivered to second cylinder nozzle spray tip and delivering of fuel into second cylinder. Both first and second cylinders operate to provide combustion during corresponding cycle of operation of cylinder, and corresponding nozzle spray tips of first and second cylinders operate so that delivery of gas from first cylinder into gas supply system provides delivery of gas into second cylinder during corresponding cycle of operation of cylinder. According to proposed method, opening of nozzle spray tips of first and second cylinders can be provided with overlapping during preset time interval at corresponding cycle of cylinder operation. Each of first and second cylinders in said engine operate to provide combustion during corresponding cycle of cylinder operation, and control device is made to provided overlapping of opening of first cylinder nozzle spray tip and opening of second cylinder nozzle spray tip during corresponding operating cycle of cylinder.
