FIELD: mining industry. SUBSTANCE: method includes passing of hollow column of additional drift contouring the pillar, performing unloading operations and extraction of hollow column by clean-cutting. Previously width of support pressure area of clean-cutting area is determined. Additional drift is passed at distance from extracted area, said distance surpassing half of calculated support pressure area. Unloading wells are bored in depth of protection area into contoured pillar in the column from ventilation drift and additional drift one towards another. Pillar portion is surrounded by said wells from cutting furnace to calculated boundary of support pressure area. Then column and pillar clean-cutting extraction is started from the furnace with control of shock hazard in extraction area. In case of hazard distance between unloading wells inside boundaries of support pressure area is lessened so that shock hazard is eliminated. Then boring of unloading wells is continued behind said boundaries from said drifts with such distance between wells so that shock hazard is eliminated, and boring is continued with such distances until the end of pillar. Additional unloading wells may be bored from clean- cutting area into contoured pillar periodically to extraction cycles, said wells having depth of no less than total of protective area width and clean-cutting area displacement during one extraction cycle. Distance between additional unloading wells is lessened in case of shock hazard to eliminate it. EFFECT: increased safety and effectiveness of layer extraction. 2 cl, 2 dwg
