FIELD: building engineering, particularly construction of several underground floors under reconstructible buildings having brick load- bearing walls. SUBSTANCE: building foundation includes retaining walls and ferroconcrete plate supported by retaining walls. Retaining walls are arranged along outer load-bearing building walls from outer sides thereof. Plate supports outer and inner load-bearing building walls. Present foundation and soil are removed from under the plate on the depth comparable with retaining walls depth for forming free space. Underground floors are formed in created free space. EFFECT: possibility of underground floors forming, enhanced operating safety, increased building strength and stability. 2 cl, 3 dwg
