FIELD: railway transport. SUBSTANCE: invention relates to methods and device for automatic control of speed of cuts on gravity hump. According to invention, SHF signal is constantly radiated, and reflected signal received from cut is processed after homodyne conversion. Following processing is effected by processing of signal samples by of discrete Fourier transform using Hertzel algorithm, with value of intermediate transformation of sample being determined in spaces between samples. Main part of calculations is carried out in spaces between samples. Weight processing of input data and summing up of input data with superposition of input data in time and "jumping" discrete Fourier transform are used. EFFECT: improved accuracy and reliability of measurements. 2 cl, 1 dwg
