FIELD: railway equipment; physics.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to hump yard automation and telemechanics. In the method, probing microwave radiation is generated by means of an antenna made on the basis of a spherical Luneburg lens, and Doppler frequency signals from cut of cars ucut and train utrain separately discretized in time and stored in multiple points in time tk readings of instantaneous values of these signals ucut, utrain where k=0, 1, 2, … — serial number of readings, then, using a plurality of readings by k, spectra are obtained for each Doppler signal, for which are calculated current values of amplitudes Acut, Atrain and frequencies Ωcut, Ωtrain of first harmonic for signals from cut and train, respectively, further, for the obtained readings of amplitudes Acut, Atrain calculating current values of signal-to-noise ratios qcut=Acut/σn-1, qtrain=Atrain/σn-2, where σn-1,2 — root-mean-square values of intrinsic noise levels at linear outputs of receivers, further, the values of the signal-to-noise ratio qcut and qtrain is compared with the threshold value of the signal-to-noise ratio qthr and in case of its exceeding qcut≥qthr, qtrain≥qthr, coefficient of ratio Rcur of current values of frequencies Ωcut, Ωtrain of the first harmonic is calculated for signals from cut and train respectively by the formula: Rcur=Ωcut/Ωtrain, then current values of coefficient Rcur are compared with a given value of coefficient Rset "set point", in case of inequality Rcur<Rset, decision is made on absence of cut separation from train, and when the inequality Rcur<R set is satisfied, the cut separation from the train is recorded.
EFFECT: higher reliability and accuracy of determining the moment of separation of the cut from the driven train.
