CYCLONE-TYPE DUST CATCHER FOR VACUUM CLEANER Russian patent published in 2004 - IPC

FIELD: mechanical engineering.

SUBSTANCE: cyclone-type dust catcher has cyclone casing for creating vortex flow of dust-laden air sucked through air inlet channel. Cyclone casing has first connecting pipe joined to extension pipe adjacent to vacuum cleaner suction opening, and second connecting pipe joined to extension pipe adjacent to vacuum cleaner casing. Air inlet channel is joined to first connecting pipe and air outlet channel is joined to second connecting pipe. Removable dust collector is attached to cyclone casing and adapted for receiving of contaminants separated from air by vortex flow. Grid-type unit is arranged in the vicinity of air outlet opening. Equally spaced longitudinal slots are formed at outer periphery of main portion of grid-type unit to define air passage leading to air outlet opening. Grid-type unit is adapted for preventing contaminants collected in dust collector from flowing back through air outlet channel of cyclone casing. Cleaning member is positioned for moving up and down over outer peripheral surface of grid-type unit main portion to provide for removal of contaminants stuck in and around related longitudinal slots of grid-type unit. Cable is joined with its one end to cleaning member. Winding member is arranged inside cyclone casing so that other end of cable is wound thereon. Rotating handle arranged outside the cyclone casing is joined to winding member through shaft. Flexible member is disposed between cleaning member and inner lower surface of grid-type main portion to provide for resilient downward biasing of cleaning member.

EFFECT: increased efficiency, simplified construction and easy removal of contaminants from grid-type unit.
