CYCLONE-TYPE DUST CATCHER FOR VACUUM CLEANER Russian patent published in 2004 - IPC

FIELD: mechanical engineering, in particular, vacuum cleaning equipment.

SUBSTANCE: dust catcher has cyclone casing adapted for creating of vortex flow containing dust-laden air drawn through air intake opening. Casing has first connecting pipe for joining to elongation pipe at the side of vacuum cleaner suction opening, second connecting pipe for joining to elongation pipe at the side of vacuum cleaner casing, air intake opening communicated with first connecting pipe, and air discharge opening communicated with second connecting pipe. Dust catcher has dust collecting device detachably connected to cyclone casing and adapted for collecting of dust and foreign matter separated from dust-laden air by centrifugal force of said vortex flow, grid unit whose end adjoins to air discharge opening, and dust removal device for removing from grid unit of dust and foreign matter stuck to grid part of grid unit. Grid unit has grid part defining channel communicated with air discharge opening. Dust removal device has rotating part disposed on grid unit lower part and adapted for rotation by air flowing therethrough, rotating member connected to rotating part and disposed separately from grid unit at predetermined distance therefrom, and brush member, whose one end is connected to rotating member and other end is arranged so as to contact with grid part of grid unit for removing dust and foreign matter from grid part after predetermined amount of dust and foreign matter rotating inside cyclone dust catcher has collected on grid part.

EFFECT: automatic removal of dust and foreign matter for preventing vacuum cleaner channels from clogging and for elimination of separate dust and foreign matter removal procedure and reduced power consumption.
