CYCLONE-TYPE DUST CATCHER FOR VACUUM CLEANER Russian patent published in 2004 - IPC

FIELD: mechanical engineering.

SUBSTANCE: dust catcher has cyclone casing including first connecting pipe connected to extension pipe arranged adjacent to vacuum cleaner suction opening, second connecting pipe coupled to extension pipe adjacent to casing, air inlet channel communicated with first connecting pipe, air outlet channel communicated with second connecting pipe, dust receiver detachably connected to cyclone casing, and grid-type unit arranged at air outlet channel of cyclone casing and adapted for preventing contamination accumulated in dust receiver from back flowing through air outlet channel of cyclone casing. Equally spaced longitudinal slots are formed on outer peripheral surface of main part of grid-type unit to define passage to air outlet opening. Cyclone casing is designed for creating vortex flow from dust-laden air drawn through air inlet opening. Dust receiver is adapted for contaminants separated by vortex flow from air. Cyclone dust collector has cleaning member mounted for moving up and down over outer periphery of grid-type main part of unit for removal of contaminants adhered in related longitudinal slots of grid-type unit and around said slots and for collecting of removed contaminants in dust receiver, toothed rack connected with its end to cleaning member and extending up from attached end, toothed gear arranged in cyclone casing and equipped with toothed portion engaged with rack toothed portion, and handle connected with toothed wheel through shaft and arranged outside cyclone casing.

EFFECT: increased efficiency and simplified removal of dust from grid-type unit without contaminating of surrounding objects.
