FIELD: processes for working materials by cutting, namely methods for cooling cutting zone.
SUBSTANCE: method comprises steps of supplying to cutting zone gaseous cutting fluid treated inside ionizer in electric field under pressure no less than 0.04 atm for forming at least one stream of cutting fluid; setting length of stream of cutting fluid at outlet of ionizer no more than 30 diameters of stream. Necessary number of streams is selected according to given condition depending upon cutting power and power value for one stream of gaseous cutting fluid at which strength of cutting tool is not less than that at using liquid cutting fluid.
EFFECT: enhanced efficiency of cooling cutting zone due to increased surface area of cooling, improved wear resistance of cutting tool.
