FIELD: passive radio detection and ranging.

SUBSTANCE: the method is based on detection of the source of the noise radio signal, measurement of its angular coordinated, measurement of the difference of time delay of the direct signal from the source of the noise radio signal and the signal reflected from the control point on the ground with the preset range to it and angle between the directions to the control point and to the source of the noise radio signal, spectral processing of the sum of signals, direct one from the source of the noise radio signal and the other one reflected from the control point on the ground, determination from the obtained difference of frequencies between the maximums of the energy spectrum inversely proportional difference of time delay of the direct signal from the source of the noise radio signal and the signal reflected from the control point on the ground, calculation of the distance to the source of the noise radio signal from the known distance to the control point and the angle between the directions to it and to the source of the noise radio signal, as well as from the measured difference of time delay of the signals, direct one from the source of the noise radio signal and that reflected from the control point on the ground.
