FIELD: methods of cooling lump and granular mineral materials, particularly for building material production, metallurgical and other industries.
SUBSTANCE: method of cooling mineral materials, for instance cement clinker, lime and ore pellets, involves feeding preliminary burnt material in layers, filtering air in layers along the whole layer height in cross flow mode; dividing material before cooling thereof into vertical parallel rows; multi-staged cooling material along with filtering of 10% - 30% from total air flow on the first stage in each material layer simultaneously with cross flow in uniflow and contraflow directions. On the second stage filtering of remainder 70%-90% of total air flow is carried out in cross flow regime with opposing air flows in adjacent material layers.
EFFECT: possibility of material cooling with minimal heat loses, reduced power consumption, increased efficiency.
