FIELD: ferrous metallurgy.

SUBSTANCE: the invention is dealt with a steel production in the arc electric furnaces. The technical result is homogenization of the volume of the molten metal by temperature and chemical composition, reduction of a melt duration. The method provides for a side feeding of a gas stream under a level of molten metal at least through one lance mounted in a side wall of the furnace. The gas feeding into the electric arc furnace, that contains a central and an oriel window parts, is exercised into a remote from the oriel window part of the furnace. A gas stream is directed horizontally in direction coinciding with a tangent drawn from the point the gas exit to the molten bath to circumference of a radiusRy drawn from the center of the cylindrical part of the furnace. Ry = (R-r)/2, where "R" - radius of the cylindrical part of the furnace in mm, "r"- radius of the circumference of location of electrodes, in mm. Gas streams from different points of its exit to metal are direct into one direction, clockwise or counter-clockwise, excluding a possibility of a gas stream directed to the furnace working opening. The method provides for feeding of gas in metal of the molten bath through two and four lances located on the different sides from the longitudinal axis of the furnace at different in height location of lances in respect to a level of the metal.

EFFECT: the invention ensures homogenization of the volume of the molten metal by temperature and chemical composition and reduction of a melt duration.
