FIELD: electric metallurgy, possibly melting in vacuum-electric arc furnaces ingots of titanium and its alloys alloyed with C14 isotope, namely for carrying out radiographic investigations.
SUBSTANCE: method comprises steps of agitating each doze of loose components of charge containing alloying element, titanium sponge and waste materials; placing charge into container of press and pressing charge by dozes; using as alloying element of charge C14 isotope uniformly introduced into each doze of charge together with pellet of titanium powder; producing pellet due to preliminarily mixing C14 isotope with finely dispersed titanium powder for preparing batch and placing it into press-mold with titanium powder for pressing under pressure no less than 200kg/sq.mm and sintering al least for an hour in vacuum at residual pressure 3 - 5*10-2 hg mm at temperature 1000 ± 50C.
EFFECT: possibility for making titanium ingots alloyed with above mentioned isotope in standard manufacturing equipment with maximum assimilation of active carbon in any mass of metal.
