FIELD: medicine, oncology.
SUBSTANCE: the present innovation deals with performing radiation therapy of malignant neoplasms of small pelvic organs. The method includes systemic and local impact upon patient's body. Moreover, during the whole period of radiation therapy including an interval between irradiation stages one should apply "Modifilan" in the form of gelatinous substance for rectal microenemas after rectal evacuation 30-60 min before radiation therapy seance and, additionally, up to 5 times after the next fecal discharge for acute period at the dosage of 50-100 ml at simultaneous intake per 1-2 tablets or gelatinous substance of "Modifilan" 3-5 times daily. To obtain gelatinous substance one should dissolve 2.0 g "Modifilan" in 50 ml water at its temperature being 22-25 C. The method enables to decrease severity degree of radiation rectitis, decrease the number of other prescribed preparations and creates additional possibilities to apply high irradiation doses to the tumor.
EFFECT: higher efficiency and prophylaxis.
