MACHINE FOR CONTINUOUS HORIZONTAL CASTING OF METAL Russian patent published in 2005 - IPC

FIELD: metallurgy, namely metal continuous casting processes and equipment.

SUBSTANCE: machine includes insulated reservoir or vessel for melt metal such as melt aluminum; mold 3 made with possibility of detaching it from reservoir and having insulating plate 19 with apertures 25,26 communicated with mold 3. The last has, preferably round cavity 17 with wall 12,13 of penetrable material for supplying gas and oil to cavity of mold and at least one annular slit 16 or adapter arranged along circle of cavity for direct feed of cooling agent. Annular gaps for distributing gas and oil along wall material are formed between penetrable material of wall and housing 8 of mold. Said annular gaps are divided by sectors by means of inserts for receiving gas and oil through separate supplying ducts 10,11 of each sector. It allows to differentiate supply of gas and oil along circle.

EFFECT: possibility for casting metal whose quality is identical to that of metal cast in vertical casting machine.
