FIELD: metallurgy; methods of iron pellets production.
SUBSTANCE: the invention is pertaining to the method of production of the metallic iron pellets having a high degree of iron purity. The method provides for: heating of the raw material containing a carbon reducing agent and a material containing ferric oxide in a furnace of recovery and a melting; recovery of ferric oxide in the raw material and a heating of the metallic iron produced by recovery till its smelting-down with simultaneous realization of its coalescence at separation of the metallic iron from a slag component. They use the carbon reducing agent with a big share of a fixed carbon equal at least to 73 %. The invention ensures a possibility to produce the metallic iron pellets having the range of their dimensions required for their transportation or machining in the capacity of a product with a high output and a good productivity due to application in the composition of the raw material of a volatile substance or the carbon materials having previously given contents of the fixed carbon.
EFFECT: the invention ensures production of the metallic iron pellets with the dimensions required for their transportation or machining in the capacity of a product with a high output and a good productivity due to presence a volatile substance or carbon materials with the given share the fixed carbon.
