FIELD: tobacco industry.

SUBSTANCE: manufacture of first segment comprises following steps: providing one or more copper-containing porphyrins; preparing mixture of cellulose fiber, sodium sulfate, aqueous chlorine solution, and copper-containing porphyrin; heating mixture during appropriate time at the same or more than one temperature allowing copper-containing porphyrin to be covalently bound to cellulose fiber; and molding cellulose fiber with covalently bound copper-containing porphyrin into the first segment of tobacco filter. Tobacco filter may contain iron-containing analog of copper-containing porphyrin, C.I.Reactive Blue 21.

EFFECT: increased efficacy in removal of toxic and mutagenic compounds from tobacco smoke.
