FIELD: mechanical engineering; testing of bladed machine rotor housing.

SUBSTANCE: according to proposed method, prior to testing, cross section of blade feather is weakened by cross trimming, ports are made in blade feather, temperature-sensitive loading elements are fitted in ports and are fixed in cross direction. Ports in blade feather are arranged so that weakened section of blade is within the limits of port height. Temperature-sensitive loading elements are installed with no clearance between their end faces and contact surfaces of ports. When rotor attains preset speed, blade is heated after which it breaks, and resistance to break of housing is evaluated by traces of blade impact against housing. Device contains rotor with blades, drive, rotor speed control system and blade heating device. Material of temperature-sensitive loading elements is chosen so that linear expansion coefficient of material of temperature-sensitive element be higher than linear expansion coefficient of blade material. Safety factor of weakened cross section is within 1.2 and 2.

EFFECT: provision of guaranteed break of blade in said section at preset speed of rotation, provision of trajectory close to trajectory of broken blade at minimum modification of rotor.
