SUBSTANCE: the invention is pertaining to the field of metallurgy, in particular, to a vacuum arc furnace with a heat accumulator. The vacuum arc furnace contains the smelting chamber, the electrodes holder, the source power, vacuum-pumping and chilling systems. The furnace is additionally supplied with the heat accumulator, which is formed in a cavity limited by the outer surface of the smelting chamber and an inner surface of the casing and is filled with the substance accumulating heat. At utilization of the invention productivity and reliability of the furnace is boosted.
EFFECT: the invention ensures an increased productivity and reliability of the furnace in operation.
