FIELD: metallurgy of precious metals.
SUBSTANCE: platinum is prepared from chloroplatinic acid solutions containing impurities of palladium and/or rhodium, and/or iridium. Hydrochloric acid is added to chloroplatinic acid diluted solution. Components of the mixture used for dilution are taken in the ratio 0.25-1.0 mole of hydrogen chloride per mole of platinum wherein the density value of mixture is 1.3-1.4 g/cm3. Before precipitation of chloroplatinate the chloroplatinic acid diluted solution is filtered off from suspension formed as result of dilution. Ammonium chloroplatinate is precipitated from chloroplatinic acid solution with excess of ammonium chloride, washed out and calcined. Method provides enhancing of platinum extraction degree.
EFFECT: improved preparing method.
