FIELD: metallurgy industry.

SUBSTANCE: invention refers to metallurgy industry, and namely to restoration of operating layer of converter lining. Method involves leaving the slag in converter after metal has been tapped, nitrogen blowing of slag with basicity of 1.5-4.5 at the ratio of iron oxides to magnesium oxides in slag, which is equal to 1.2-7.5, flux addition, so that ferritised periclase can be obtained. Flux contains the following component ratio, wt %: magnesium oxide 45.0-85.0; silicon oxide 0.5-7.0; iron oxide 2.0-20.0; aluminium oxides 1.0-15.0; metal aluminium 1.0-10.0; carbon 0.1-7.0%; calcium oxide - the rest; at that, mass fraction of ferritised periclase in flux is 2.0-75.0 %.

EFFECT: obtaining uniformly slagged lining of converter with increased resistance of wall accretion.
