FIELD: metallurgy industry; methods of recovery of the converter brick-lining layer.

SUBSTANCE: the invention is pertaining to the field of metallurgy, in particular, to recovery of the converter brick-lining layer. The method consists, that before the beginning and-or during purging of the tap cinder by nitrogen the converter is added with the self-decomposing magnesia granules of the steel in quantity of 0.2-30.0 kg/t produced by pelletization of caustic and crude magnesite and the coke and-or siderite. At that the ratio of magnesium oxides to calcium oxides (MgO/CaO) in the magnesia granules makes 10 -65, and the share of the losses at calcinations makes 20 -50 %. The self-decomposing magnesia granules contain (in mass %): magnesium oxide -40-65; calcium oxide -1.0-2.5; carbon - 4-20 and-or ferric oxide -7-15. The technical result of the invention ensures the increased resistance of the converter lining.
