FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: method involves supply of rusty magnesian flux and magnesian-alumina flux to the converter at the ratio of their consumptions of 0.2-15 on the basis of obtaining 5-20% magnesium oxides in slag after molten metal oxygen blasting is completed. Content of aluminium oxides in magnesian-alumina flux shall be 1.0-20%. Rusty magnesian flux is supplied to converter at the charge loading and during oxygen blasting of molten metal, and magnesian-alumina flux is introduced from the beginning till the end of molten metal blasting process and to the rest of the slag before and(or) during nitrogen blowing of slag remained after the metal is poured from converter.
EFFECT: use of invention allows decreasing viscosity rating of slag at maintaining the converter tuyere steadiness, and thus eliminating metal deposition in blow-down tuyere and improving metal dephosphorisation and desulphuration processes.
