FIELD: medicine, thoracic surgery.
SUBSTANCE: the present innovation deals with suturing in esophageal perforation in thoracic department after left-hand pulmonectomy. For this purpose one should cut a flap on vascular pedicle out of the broadest muscle of back (BMB) to transfer it into pleural cavity through a foramen developed after resection of posterior costal section. Then, not destroying the integrity of the flap, one should cover esophageal perforation opening with one of its parts to be sutured with separate interrupted sutures. The rest part should be put in residual pleural cavity. The innovation enables to provide reliable suturing at large, more than 1 cm, defects after left-hand pulmonectomy and left-hand empyema and, simultaneously, enables to liquidate residual cavity after pulmonectomy.
EFFECT: higher efficiency of therapy.
