FIELD: microwave electronics; various chaotic-signal based radar, counterradio, and communication systems, industrial installations, and medical instruments.
SUBSTANCE: proposed generator designed to produce noise-like broadband superhigh- and ultrahigh-frequency oscillations of medium power depending for its operation on non-relativistic electron beam in virtual cathode generation mode has electron source, electrodynamic system with energy output and collector, as well as at least one grid disposed between electron source and collector perpendicular to electron beam direction for shaping virtual cathode in electromagnetic system between grid and collector. Electron source is made in the form of electron gun and collector, in the form of electrode disposed at generator output. In addition, generator is provided with second grid disposed between first grid and collector for shaping virtual cathode between grids. Electrodynamic system can be made in the form of spiral slow-wave structure section. Electron gun is provided with thermionic cathode, modulating grid, and anode.
EFFECT: reduced power level of noise-like broadband signals produced by generator.
