FIELD: railway transport.

SUBSTANCE: invention can be used on rail vehicles with dc traction motors. Proposed electric drive has supply source, traction motor with armature winding and field winding, two thyristors and four diodes. Anodes of first and second thyristors are united; cathode of first thyristor is connected with cathode of first diode, cathode of second thyristor is connected with common output of field winding of dc traction motor and cathode of second diode. Vacant output of field winding of dc motor is connected with anode of third diode. Fifth diode, two bipolar transistors with insulated gates are introduced into power circuit. Collector of first bipolar transistor with isolated gate is connected with common output of cathode of second thyristor and anode of fourth diode, cathode of which is connected with common output of anodes of first, second thyristors, fifth diode, cathode of third diode and armature winding of traction dc motor. Vacant output of armature winding of traction dc motor is connected with common output of supply source and cathode of fifth diode. Collector of second bipolar transistor with insulated gate is connected with common output of cathodes of first thyristor and first diode, anode of third diode and field winding of traction dc motor. Emitters of first, second bipolar transistors with insulated gates and anodes of first, second diodes are united and connected to common bus.

EFFECT: improved reliability of operation owing to reduced number of elements in power circuit.
