FIELD: transport machinery industry.
SUBSTANCE: the device has a DC electric motor, whose armature winding and the excitation winding are connected by means of filter elements and a voltage converter to the contact system, and a brake resistor. The voltage converter is made in the form of an electric bridge, with two transistors shunted by reversed diodes series-connected to the first adjacent arms, and one transistor - to the second adjacent arms. The electric motor armature winding is connected between the center points of the first two adjacent bridge arms, and the excitation winding-between the leads of the bridge output diagonal. The brake resistor is connected to the armature winding of the electric motor by means of a transistor shunted by a reversed diode.
EFFECT: expanded functional potentialities of the device due tot the enhanced efficiency and reliability of the converter of the given device.
