FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to compositions of fluxes used in steel smelting manufacture. Proposed flux comprises magnesium, calcium, iron, silicon and aluminum oxides in the following ratio of components, wt.-%: magnesium oxides, 36.0-94.0; calcium oxides, 1.0-35.0; iron oxides, 3.0-15.0; silicon oxides, 1.0-10.0, and aluminum oxides, 1.0-4.0. Flux comprises additionally organic and/or mineral compounds, 1.0-10.0 wt.-% and carbon, 3.0-20.0 wt.-% to provides increase the dissolving rate value of flux and conferring exothermic properties to flux. Invention provides to create novel compositions of fluxes possessing exothermic properties, enhanced dissolving rate in slaggy melts and high strength in storage.
EFFECT: improved and valuable technical properties of flux.
