FIELD: metallurgy.

SUBSTANCE: in the process, scrap is filled, cast iron is poured, the metal is purged with oxygen, additives are added to the slag-forming materials during the purge. After the completion of the metal purge with oxygen, the oxidation of the metal is measured and, depending on its value, a high-magnesian flux in the amount of 0.3-4.0 kg/ton of steel, having a composition, wt %: magnesium oxide 47.0-65.0, calcium oxide 1.0-10.0, loss on ignition 25.0-45.0 and unavoidable impurities remaining, with oxidation of the metal less than 400 ppm, 0.3-2.0 kg/ton of steel, with the oxidation of the metal 400-1200 ppm - 0.5-3.0 kg/ton steel, and with the oxidation of the metal more than 1200 ppm - 1.0-4.0 kg/ton of steel of the flux, wherein the oxidation of the metal 400-1200 ppm and more than 1200 ppm into the converter is additionally added an aluminium-containing material consisting of 3.0-20.0% aluminium of aluminium and 35.0-65.0% of aluminium oxide in an amount of 0.2-1.5 kg/ton of steel and 0.5-2.0 kg/ton of steel respectively. After the metal is drained, the slag casing is applied to the lining of the converter by nitrogen slag blasting, during which a high-magnesian flux is added in an amount of up to 4.0 kg/ton of steel and/or coke in an amount up to 5.0 kg/ton of steel.

EFFECT: invention makes it possible to increase the yield of a suitable steel, to reduce the specific consumption of refractory combat for pouring and gunning, and to reduce the wear of the lining of the converter from the side of the discharge of the metal by forming the saturated magnesia slag after the metal is purged with oxygen.
