FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: method involves forming superficial cornea layer of 130-160 mcm on pedicle with microkeratome and bending it towards the pedicle. Stroma ablation with laser radiation is done for creating required cornea profile so that residual cornea thickness becomes not less than 250-300 mcm after the intervention. The flap is returned to its place. Space dimensions under the flap, epithelium thickness in cornea center and corneal flap thickness are determined 3 months later by means of confocal microscopic examination. The received data are caved in archive. 6 months later, repeated examination is carried out with the same values being determined once more and compared to the previous measurements. Narrowed space under the flap being not greater than 10 mcm, no epithelium and cornea flap thickness growth being observed, epithelium layer laser ablation is carried out to Bowman membrane. Then, corneal flap stroma is undergone ablation for creating required profile. Cornea flap stroma ablation depth P is calculated from formula P=(Tflap-Tepith)/2, where Tflap is the corneal flap thickness, is the epithelium layer thickness.
EFFECT: achieved maximum possible vision acuity without residual ametropy; reduced dislocation and corneal flap perforation risk; high accuracy in determining epithelium layer thickness.
