FIELD: medical engineering.
SUBSTANCE: device has shank end, connective neck, and head having cutting members manufactured as revolution plate. Vertical profile of two broad plate facets is built as circular arcs convex relative to device axis having radius growing smaller in the direction of translation movement of the device. Transition from one convex arc to another one is smoothed with circular arc arranged concave with respect to device axis. Grooves are available along convex circular arcs on different sides of each broad facet. The grooves form the first and the second cutting member groups with narrow plate facets. End part of the head member is shaped as truncated sphere possessing recess formed by two planes arranged at an angle of 90° to each other and passing through the truncated sphere center and two points belonging to two diagonally arranged plate ribs. The third cutting member is formed as intersection of one of said planes and spherical surface of the narrow facet of head end part. The device head is fabricated from partially stabilized zirconium dioxide having its crystallographic axis of <100> coincided with the device axis.
EFFECT: controlled bone tissue removal; reduced risk of thermal burn; improved bone bed strength and wear resistance properties.
