FIELD: devices for heating metal ingots before rolling.

SUBSTANCE: regenerator units are arranged in two tiers in order to ensure smooth heating of metal ingots due to change of vertical position of flame in pit chamber; regenerative heating pit consists of chamber made in form of rectangular parallelepiped bounded by lined walls and provided with movable cover, regenerator units adjoining the chamber and located opposite each other on side of rear and front wall; regenerator units are arranged in two tiers which makes it possible to operate the regenerative heating pit at change of flame position in height of chamber. Gaseous fuel and air are preheated in respective regenerators and pit works at reversible motion of flame.

EFFECT: enhanced efficiency.
