FIELD: heating; various technological processes.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to devices for heating of metal ingots before rolling. Recuperative heating pit comprises a chamber made in the form of a rectangular parallelepiped, limited by lined walls, a hearth, a moving cover, a burner, transverse lined partitions. Chamber is additionally equipped with a longitudinal lined partition installed vertically on the hearth of chamber and connected to transverse lined partitions, wherein lengthwise lined partition along the length of the chamber is confined by vertical planes extending through ingot side surfaces facing the front and rear sides.
EFFECT: reduced time of ingots heating in furnace, increased efficiency, reduced fuel consumption as a result of reduction of ingots staying time in furnace.
