FIELD: machine engineering, production of gear wheels.
SUBSTANCE: method comprises steps of free rolling around at parallel axes of tool and worked wheel while cyclically feeding along radius after each of 2 - 4 working cycles including tool rotation by revolution number equal to tooth number of worked gear wheel in forward and backward directions and after 1 - 2 cycles of dwelling; using tool with tooth number having no common multiple with tooth number of worked gear wheel; in order to enhance accuracy due to lower cutting forces, performing working operation by means of two tools. One tool forms together with worked gear wheel pair of out-of-pole engagement and it has cuttings groove and teeth direction creating positive lead angles in one lateral side of teeth. Other tool forms pair of out-of-pole engagement and it has cuttings groove and teeth direction creating positive lead angles in opposite lateral side of teeth. Thickness of tool teeth is less than width of recess of worked gear wheel after preliminary working; teeth are shifted by value exceeding allowance value cut from lateral surface of tooth of worked gear wheel.
EFFECT: enhanced accuracy of working.
