FIELD: process engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to machine building, particularly, to machining spur gear teeth. Proposed method comprises machining at intermittent radial feed after every cycle of 2 to 4 series and without radial feed in 1 to 2 sparking-out cycles. Shaving-rolling is carries out by two tools opposed in parallel planes. Every said tool is symmetrically turned through angle with respect to gear lengthwise cross-section plane perpendicular to tool set plane. Tools centers are located at equal spacing from point located at intersection of machined gear mirror planes that makes a tangent to projections of circles. Centers of circles defining the shapes of convex and concave round or arched teeth are located at lines located in transverse mirror plane of machined gear. Lines whereat center of circles are located feature left inclination to line tangent to circle located at tool working edge width center equal to β=3-15 degrees for one tool at right-handed helical groove and, for another tool, right inclination at the same angle at left-handed groove.
EFFECT: higher precision and quality.
